Our Mission
The mission statement of The MAC Foundation is to create opportunities for children and young adults to be influenced through sports, the arts and extra curricular activities—keeping their minds and bodies focused on positive alternatives to the temptations of life. In addition, we would like to implement a free counseling service to empower them to cope with tragic events including but not limited to, death, divorce and child abandonment. *****UPDATE: May 5, 2010******* Regretfully, The Mac Foundation was unable to host our annual spring event due to extended family illnesses out of state. We mourn the loss of Ron's father, Jim Allen of Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on January 26, 2010 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to those who donated funds to our foundation in memory of Jim, along with the many cards and calls expressing your concern and condolences. My father, who also resides in Tennessee, continues to battle tonsillar cancer. On a happier note, we are pleased to announce our partnership this past fall with the 10th Annual Arizona Open, in supporting Pendleton Place, was successful in raising additional funds in the amount of $9,000 for our foundation for the year 2009. Although charities, along with the economy, have struggled over the past year--we are fortunate and blessed to continue to have support from our community in reaching out to help our youth. THANK YOU!!! Rest assured, our endeavours with The Mac Foundation will continue in the future, but for the time being--our time and efforts are needed to support our immediate and extended family. Please visit our site again for updates as the year unfolds-- God Bless, Vickie Click Here to read a note of appreciation from the Allen family. The 2009 events were a big success!
